The Asian Centre for Liver Diseases & Transplantation (ACLDT) was established in 1994. Today, it is one of Asia's foremost liver centres with a dedicated Liver Ward and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to complement its highly successful Living Donor Liver Transplantation (LDLT) Programme.
ACLDT is led by renowned liver transplant surgeon, Dato' Dr Tan Kai Chah. He is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of specialized physicians and surgeons.
It is the first private medical centre in South-east Asia to have performed 200 living donor liver transplants (as at September 2012). Dato' Dr Tan Kai Chah has personally performed more than 600 liver transplants. On average, ACLDT treats 8,000 patients a year based on existing capacity of seven ICUs and 14 general-bed wards.
ACLDT offers a one-stop seamless and comprehensive treatment for our patients and their families. With our team of highly-trained specialists, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, our Centre provides optimal care and treatment for patients (adults and children) with all types of liver disease. Our Centre also helps to promote public awareness on various common liver conditions, preventive screening and vaccinations through the web, printed brochures and public seminars.
