About ACLDT

The Asian Centre for Liver Diseases & Transplantation (ACLDT) located at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore has been established since 1994 to cater for the increasing number of patients seeking treatment for all types of liver disease. It was the first private centre in Asia dedicated to the treatment of liver disease in adults and children. It is now a well established centre of excellence, treating liver patients from all over the region led by a renowned liver transplant and hepato-biliary surgeon.

ACLDT consists of outpatient facilities as well as a dedicated in-patient liver unit with its own Liver Intensive Care Unit (LICU). The centre performs live donor liver transplantation for both adults and children. Liver failure patients are also transplanted once they have been stabilised in LICU. Some of these patients may need liver dialysis and we have available a variety of machines that are unique to our centre. With our vast experience, we have become a referral centre for treatment of acute liver failure. Besides liver transplantation, we treat the whole spectrum of liver diseases including liver cancer, viral hepatitis, biliary diseases, and pancreatic diseases. All interventional endoscopic methods are available, as well as interventional radiology. Given our regional clientele, we also provide specialised evacuation services for patients that are critically ill with liver disease.

ACLDT has also broadened its expertise to provide several other services beyond liver diseases. These include the following: general medical screening; medical oncology (including outpatient chemotherapy); gastroenterology; & respiratory medicine. Given its experience with critically ill patient & its own LICU, the centre also provides critical care services in our modernly equipped ICU. There are also several clinical trials for liver cancer that are currently in place at our centre.
