The Asian Centre for Liver Diseases & Transplantation (ACLDT) was established in 1993. Based in Singapore, it is one of Asia’s foremost Liver Centres with a dedicated Liver Ward and Intensive Care Unit to complement its highly successful Living Donor Liver Transplant (LDLT) Programme.

ACLDT is led by renowned liver transplant surgeon, Dato’ Dr Tan Kai Chah, who is also the Executive Chairman of the Company. He is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of specialised physicians and surgeons.

ACLDT obtained a listing on the Australian Stock Exchange on the 29th of September 2009 and now trades under the ticker code AJJ.

Core Business

ACLDT, located at Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore, offers a one-stop seamless and comprehensive treatment for patients with liver diseases. With a team of highly trained specialists, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, the Centre provides optimal care and treatment for adults and children.

ACLDT revenue is derived largely from liver transplantation, liver surgery, management of liver diseases through non surgical methods and related medical services, e.g. liver dialysis, professional medical consultation, imaging and laboratory services, etc.

It serves clients from the South East Asia, Indochina, Middle East, Africa and Russia.

ACLDT is the only commercial private liver centre in the world involved in phase III liver dialysis Extracorporeal Liver Assist Device ("ELAD"). In addition, ACLDT also offers two other types of liver dialysis - Molecular Recirculation System (“MARS) and Impact – as a bridge to transplant.

Growth Strategies

ALCDT intends to grow through the following strategies:

1) Organic growth of its Singapore operations – Through the recruitment of more surgeons; as currently there is a growing demand for services at ACLDT from the South East Asia, Indochina and Middle East region. Specifically the increased in demand is in the form of liver transplantation and liver dialysis.

2) Non-Organic growth– Trough the development of “satellite” liver centres in the region (including China, Malaysia and Vietnam); offering development and management expertise to these centers.

3)Further promote its status as a specialised medical hub for Asia based in Singapore, offering advanced services such as digital database of tissue management, research and development and entering into formalized relationship with foreign specialists in the field of liver disease including liver cancer.
