How is life now after the transplant?
It has been only 14 months after the transplant and it seems like it took place 14 years ago. It does seem like it happened a long time ago because of the incredibility of the normalness of life.
After the first two months elapsed, I stepped into the threshold of an active and normal life. I started off by working on the computer and from there embarked on a mild exercise regime. Four months after the transplant, I went back to work. Works starts from 7.00 am and ends everyday at 5.00 pm and long working days till 7.00 or 8.00 pm creep in at least twice a month. Rest and relaxation if reserved during the weekends in between other obligations like weekly swims and church meetings. All in all, life has been more rewarding now besides being exceptionally active. Receiving a second chance in life makes you want to learn more and get more done as you know that life is a gift where every moment is a treasure. In my utter gratitude to a new lease on life, I decided to complete my master’s degree online to take advantage of this unexpected burst of energy brought about this brand new liver inside me! My mother’s liver inspires me to experience more, feel more and to become more. This tragedy has made us inseparable. Separated by countries but joined in livers. I pray everyday for her wellness and thank God for her bravery.
